The 2L Foundation is committed to supporting all refugee children, regardless of race, religion, or creed, in integrating into their new life in the United States. Our education program allows youth to acclimate to North American culture and society and it empowers them to grow up and become valuable members of the working population.
While the US has important educational standards, the 2L Foundation believes that children should maintain a sense of their cultural identity. After all, America is a cultural melting pot of different traditions and history’s coming together to form a beautiful country. Schools are a valuable part of a child’s upbringing; teaching them social norms and mores. The 2L Foundation supports the right of all children to have access, regardless of their country of origin, to quality education and a better future.
“The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future in life.

Education
The education of our youth in America is an important mission.
Education by the numbers…
600M
600 million children and adolescents worldwide are unable to attain minimum proficiency levels in reading and mathematics (even though two thirds are in school)
244M
244 million children and youth, all over the world, are out of school with no hope.
35.3M
35.3 million refugees around the globe
5.4M
5.4 million asylum-seekers worldwide
62.5M
Poverty is the number one inhibitor for children receiving an education (one out of six children live in extreme poverty, living on less than US $1.90 per day)
